No bemobile Cup matches this weekend

THE bemobile Cup competition will go for recess this weekend as per its 2010 calendar.
According to 2010 bemobile Cup calendar, there was an All Stars challenge slated for this weekend.
However, the event has been postponed to the end of the bemobile Cup season.
The chairman of bemobile Anthony Smare said the All Stars Challenge was deferred to a later date because there were no selection of players to represent both sides – a team representing the Eastern side and another representing the Western part of the region.
Smare also said players for both sides should have been selected during the first round of the competition.
There were also no uniforms.
PNG National Rugby League chairman Don Fox said they would stick to the 2010 calendar.
The PNGNRL oversees the administration of the bemobile Cup competition.
“It would mean that there will be no games this weekend,” he said.
He said the PNGNRL would also like to ensure that the bemobile Cup competition finished ahead of the National Rugby League grand final on Oct 3.
Fox added that he was pleased with the overall performance of teams in round one.
