No water in Morata

Letters

THE lack of water at Morata in the National Capital District (NCD) that has been ongoing for the last three weeks.
Communities living along Morata 1 and 4 have very struggling for the last weeks and confused what has been the main caused.
Since the campaign period started, (bring water supply) was one of the main policy for candidates during rallies at the Community Hall.
Campaigning to people that once they had given the mandate, they will bring water supply to the Morata communities.
Many of the public servants as well as employees for other private sectors resides in these areas.
These are taxpayers who are contributing to the development of NCD and the growth of our sovereign country Papua New Guinea.
Morata is located in our capital and to have such prolonged issue for one of human most basic needs is a disgrace to our country’s service providers.
People moving with containers/buckets on hand from place to place in search of water is truly a bad image to our leaders and country as a whole.
People in search of water go as far as 17-Mile with children on PMV buses.
This is a real time issue or real life situation happening in our NCD.
NCD is supposed to be a leading example to other provinces
in Papua New Guinea not to draw such bad pictures to other provinces as well as other countries.
It is now up to the people to be smart when casting their vote for candidates that will be taking things serious when it comes to providing such basic human needs.
