SOCCER associations wishing to be part of the Football Federation PNG calendar must start preparing to register and affiliate next month.
The month-long registration and affiliation will be open from Feb 1-28 to provide ample time for rural associations wishing to be part of THE FFPNG competition.
President John Kapi Natto announced this during the launching of the FFPNG season calendar and website last month.
“Yes, we will open the member associations’ registration on the first to the 28th of February,” he said.
Kapi Natto said this would be the first for a football organisation to have a well-structured calendar although it may be challenging to achieve everything on the calendar.
“Everything in life is a challenge and FFPNG is looking forward to those challenges and ensuring football reaches the rural areas,” he said.
“I must say that we had never had a calendar before in my football career as an administrator as well as being at the top football level being the senior vice-president of PNGFA.
“I think it is right to draw a season calendar so our member associations can prepare early to attend any of our sanctioned events.”
Despite a few challenges in its maiden season in 2017, Kapi Natto said FFPNG managed to complete its inaugural National Premier League (NPL) with the staging of the men’s and women’s grand finals.
“We will soon launch our Champion’s League where the Northern Conference will kick off theirs on Feb 17-18 in Lae and Southern Conference from Feb 23-24,” he said.
Kapi Natto said teams could direct their membership enquiries to their respective regional directors in Southern, Northern, New Guinea Islands and Highlands.
