THE Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League national competition manager Toksy Nema has lifted the suspension of Moresby North East Schools Competition.
Nema said the former coordinator was dismissed from his position because of poor management.
Nema appointed Port Moresby Rugby League senior referee Ben Kaupa as the new competition coordinator.
“It’s a schools programme thus only trained teachers who know how to handle kids must involve and priority is of talents safety and welfare in the competition not to be abused by anyone,” Nema said.
“The suspension was regrettable but we had to do it for safety reasons and also to appoint a new coordinator to organise the competition well creating the right environment for developing young rugby league players in the game skills as well as appropriate social behaviours.”
Nema urged Kaupa and his assistants to effectively coordinate the competition starting this weekend.
He said all players registration should be forthcoming as the deadline lapsed on June 30.
