THE Southern Region PNGFA Under-17 Youth Festival kicks off at the Bisini soccer grounds on tomorrow with six boys teams and four girls teams confirmed to take part.
Organising committee chairman Joseph Ealedona said while the deadline for the participation fee payment they would still allow late payments — 4pm today.
He said there had been overwhelming interest however payments of the K540 per team registration has been slow but teams should have time today to pay into the PNGFA operating account with BSP and show receipts at the managers meeting this afternoon at the Bisini soccer grounds.
“I urged teams that have paid registration fees to make it a must to attend the technical meeting this afternoon to collect appropriate documents for the festival,” Ealadona said.
“Depending on the confirmed teams, we will also discuss the format and discuss the tournament regulations.”
He said there were security and safety concerns for teams in the region to come into Port Moresby and the costs of travel so we accept that and I will be recommending to the PNGFA to review the format and introduce this concept in each province.
A number of schools in the Port Moresby Schools Football association have requested more time for registration fee payment and have today to confirm their participation.
