Northern U17 soccer c’ship kicks off today

THE Papua New Guinea Football Association’s U17 youth tournament starts today at PNGFA Academy with 34 teams participating.
A group of Fifa representatives visiting the PNGFA Academy are expected at the opening, according to Northern Zone soccer coordinator Shem Farrock. Out of the 34 teams 12 are women’s teams.
Associations sending in teams are Madang Soccer Association and its member associate North Coast, Ramu and a schools team.
Goroka will have two teams while Chimbu will be represented by six schools.
Bulolo District has Wau Soccer Association, Nami primary and Sambio primary schools.
Markham District will have Wantoat, Sangan Primary and Zeram primary schools.
The Morobe Football Association has four teams (three boys and a girls team).
