The Northern Provincial Council of Women will have a resource centre next year, says Governor Gary Juffa.
Juffa, during the ground-breaking ceremony recently, said the concept designs were underway for a building for administration training and microfinance for the women.
“Women are the true backbone of our economy,” he said. “We have set aside K1 million from next year’s provincial services improvement programme to build the resource centre.
“Both Open MPs — Richard Masere (Ijivitari) and Henry Jons Amuli (Sohe) — will also be contributing in our collective effort to empower our women folk.”
Juffa said the resource centre would facilitate microfinance training and awareness programmes for the women of Northern.
