WEST TIGERS superstar Benji Marshall and Australian PMs XIII wing Beau Ryan are coming to Papua New Guinea.
Ryan hinted about the November trip at Saturday’s rugby league clinics hosted by the Papua New Guinea National Rugby League Bid at the Port Moresby International School.
“I think Benji and I are coming back in November for some promotion,” Ryan let out while signing autographs for the kids after the clinic.
“I think it’s a TV promotion or something.”
It is yet to be confirmed what Ryan and Marshall will be coming to the country for, and who is bringing them over.
Ryan quickly brushed past his sudden move from the Tigers to the Cronulla Sharks next season, when he was prompted by some of the young fans about how long he was going to be at Leichardt Oval.
“One year, and Benji has four years. He is the guy with the ‘bling bling’ so he gets a lot of money,” Ryan joked.
Australian media reported that Ryan and teammate Chris Heighington are set to move to Cronulla after the Tigers couldn’t meet their proposed packages.
Saturday’s coaching clinics saw 120 students from the capital city go through basic rugby league drills, with members of the Australian and Papua New Guinea Prime Minister’s XIII all on-board among the students.
PNGNRL Bid Community and Development manager Shane Morris ran the clinics.
Students had the chance to run through the drills at six stations where they rotated and a mixture of PNG and Australian players were based.
Coaches Adrian Lam and Mal Meninga had the opportunity to talk to the students, and an autograph and chat session with players topped a great morning.
