PRIME Minister Peter O’Neill will launch the first Southern Highlands provincial master plan that captures all development aspirations of the province.

The master plan is a brainchild of Governor William Powi.

It will be launched in Mendi tomorrow after the provincial assembly meeting which starts today.

O’Neill is also a member of the provincial assembly.

Powi said that the master plan was a road map for development in the province in line with all the National Government’s development priorities, the national development plan and the medium term development plan towards achieving the Vision 2050’s aspiration of creating a wealthy, healthy and prosperous PNG.

He told The National that with O’Neill announcing 2013 as a year of implementation, the provincial government would roll out the plan besides some of the project that had already been started.

He said projects ranged from the medium to long term plans expected to be achieved from 2013 to 2017 and beyond.
