Officer facing bail charge

SUSPENDED National Airport Corporation (NAC) director Richard Yopo has been re-arrested and charged with allegedly breaching a term of his bail condition.
Yopo, 45, of Irelya village in Wabag, Enga, was charged with one count of being illegally on a premises and one count of breaching his bail condition.
Police alleged that on Sept 17, Yopo entered the NAC premises in Port Moresby with one of his tribesmen after he had been suspended from office for an indefinite period.
According to the terms of his suspension as the managing director, Yopo was not allowed to enter the premises of NAC or interfere with any staff at 7-Mile in Port Moresby.
His entering the premises had breached his bail condition.
Previously, he was arrested and charged with one count of abuse of office, one count of official corruption, one count of stealing and one count of misappropriation of state-owned vehicle.
He was also charged by the National Fraud and Anti-Corruption Directorate for obstructing police for allegedly preventing investigation into his office.
It was alleged that Yopo entered the fire emergency office with one of his relatives.
Police were alerted and went to arrest them.
