THE arresting officer in the case of a woman who allegedly used money belonging to another person was told by the court to present an affidavit on the status of investigations when the matter returns to court.
Magistrate Tracy Ganaii, in the Waigani Committal Court yesterday, issued the directive after police prosecutor Chief Sgt Polon Koniu told the court that he had no instructions on the police file of Deslyn Nigi.
“This is your second mention, the prosecutor has no information regarding the police file,” Magistrate Ganaii said.
“I have issued directives for the arresting officer to provide an affidavit stating the status of the investigations and most importantly, how much time he need to carryout the investigations.”
Nigi, 36, of Koboibus village in Yangoru Saussia, East Sepik, will return to court on April 23.
She was alleged to have used
over K200,000 belonging to Nigel Nigi.
The money was Nigil’s share of benefits from his late father’s Nambawan Supa contributions.
Her K500 bail was extended with conditions.
