TWENTY-FIVE police officers attached to Central police stations graduated from a two-week management course on Friday at Kwikila Police Station.
The non-commissioned officers (NCOs) attached to different police stations in the province were grateful to have attended the training as it had boosted their skills in the role of policing in arresting and charging suspects.
Acting Assistance Commissioner of Police (ACP) human resource Supt Johannes Yapi, who officially closed the training, said he believed that the officers were now ready to carry out their policing duties.
He said the officers would return to their police stations and expected to utilise and pass on what they had learned to their fellow officers thereby improving the quality and value of their work.
ACP Yapi said the Central NCOs were the first to take up the training and it would continue to other centres throughout the country.
The training was conducted by the police training unit and was funded by the human resource development division.
ACP Yapi said police officers needed training to refresh their knowledge on the latest developments in criminal activities and how they could prepare themselves to make arrests, prepare their court files and also how they interact with the public when attending to complaints and solving issues in their respective areas of operations.
He said there were more trainings they would be conducting throughout the country and one of them would be on how police officers prepared their court files for both minor and serious cases.
