He said that during the announcement of a three-year sponsorship in the Morobe capital on Thursday.
Harrison said the sponsorship was a blessing for the code during these difficult economic times and “we can only hope that it develops into a long-lasting relationship”.
“Lae cricket has produced many players over the years,” he told The National.
“In the first PNG team to the International Cricket Council (ICC) Trophy tournament in England, Lae contributed two players in Sam Malum and the late Vele Amini.”
Harrison said Thursday’s event saw the launching of the association’s T20 competition with team uniforms carrying the PCS brand.
“We are indebted to the NKW Group, through PCS, for the sponsorship and look forward to a wonderful competition,” he said.
“The sponsorship will cover another competition, which will NKW Group Trans-Highway Cup, which will be played between Lae, Madang, Mt Hagen, Goroka, Mendi and Jiwaka.
