FUNDS deposited by the Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG) in the National Superannuation Fund (Nasfund) will be managed well, Nasfund’s Buka branch officer-in-charge Geita Goasa says.
ABG recently deposited K1 million in Nasfund for its members and parliamentary staff which would have their retirement savings accounts activated.
Goasa assured ABG that her team was looking forward in ensuring that the funds paid would be dispersed accordingly and with due diligence.
She thanked the commitment of the ABG for ensuring its members of the house of representatives, parliamentary officers and the MP all constituencies in Bougainville to have retirement savings accounts.
ABG Minister for Economics and member of Tsitalato, Fidelis Semoso, thanked Goasa for constantly communicating with the Government to ensure that this payment was made after three years of discussions.
Nasfund chief executive officer Ian Tarutia said the fund commended the decision made by ABG to recognise that there was life after active employment and taking the initiative to create a retirement nest egg for individual staff.
Tarutia encouraged the members to tap into an array of services and benefits that are on offer while being a member of the fund.
“Mainly, the membership discount programme which provides members a discount at various service providers and retail outlets throughout the country,” he said.
“Members can join the Nasfund Contributor’s savings and Loans Society which provides members a savings and loan facility for everyday financial commitments.”
