Official: Govt wants to boost relationship

THE Government wants to enhance its relationship with the Indonesian government, says Defence deputy secretary Simon Tunapai.
He told the joint sub-committee meeting on security matters that both nations should ensure decisions reached at the meeting were implemented.
“This is so that some practical and tangible outcomes can be realised and brought up at the meeting next year,” Tunapai said.
“It is in such bilateral meeting that we give confidence to our leaders to enhance our relationships.
“Let me thank the Government and people of Indonesia for their confidence in PNG to host APEC 2018 in Port Moresby. These indicates a strong mutual working relationship and mutual trust both countries have developed over the years.”
