Officials hailed for completing resumption forms

MOROBE education adviser Keith Tangui commended education officials in the province for their cooperation in completing teachers’ resumption of duty summary sheets (Rodss).
Tangui said the provincial education board (PEB) and the education workers had improved a lot this year when many of the teachers filled out their Rodss.
“We have improved by more than 80 per cent, unlike last year where only 40 per cent were on the payroll,” he said.
“Last year, many of our teachers missed out but this year, we’ve made sure all were included in the data entry.
“We didn’t want that to happen and, yes, we did avoid the situation.
“Thank you to all the district education managers, inspectors, principals, headmasters, head teachers, school boards and the teachers for the cooperative work.”
Tangui said that the province was big and many schools were situated in remote areas, but the teachers managed to submit their Rodss on time.
“Even the remote areas have submitted theirs already because if they didn’t do it then their accounts will be emptied,” he said.
According to an estimation made by PEB during a principals’ conference early this year, the province had about 10,000 teachers who served about 362 primary and 30 high and secondary schools in the province.
He said once they completed the Rodss data entry, they would send them to the Education Department.
