Ok Tedi funds community’s water catchment project

A WATER catchment project has been funded for a community in North Fly, Western, by Ok Tedi Mining Ltd (OTML) at a cost of K67,000.
OTML delivered two water catchment tanks to Tupensomi – a village located upstream of Kiunga.
The village is of an operational interest to OTML despite not being part of the community mine continuation agreement area. This is because Tupensomi is the site for hydro instrumentation that measures water flows into the Fly River.
OTML deputy chief executive and general manager external relations, Musje Werror opened the project yesterday among locals from Tupensom and neighbouring Drimgas village.
