WESTERN Highlands Governor Tom Olga has allocated K20,000 to the Wantok Gaming System Mt Hagen Eagles for showing a big improvement in the Digicel Cup competition this season.
Olga said he was impressed with their current form and urged them to lift their performance next season.
He appealed to the team management to share the funds evenly among the players.
Olga said the team needed the support of stakeholders because it represented the province in the semi-professional rugby league challenge.
He added it would help the players and officials to improve and make the province proud.
Olga said Eagles were the pride of the province in the past 15 years and produced some good players who made it into the Kumuls.
He challenged them to try to better the standards set by the former players.
He also thanked the National Control Gaming Board for sponsoring the Eagles in the past two years.
