Ombudsman Commission adds new member

THE Ombudsman Commission has appointed a new member into the administrative body after almost four years of vacancy.
Former director academic for Certified Practising Accountants PPNG (CPAPNG), Kevin Kopii Kepore has been sworn in as accountant ombudsman.
He became part of the commission’s administrative body known as members of the commission (MOC).
Kepore, a family man and father-of-three, is looking forward to his new role as accountant ombudsman.
He is passionate about helping the commission fight corruption at the highest level. “I would like to thank the Ombudsman Commission for appointing me and I look forward to work with the team to achieve positive results in our work,” Kepore said.
He said he would cooperate with the commission in carrying out investigations and helping to maintain good governance in the country.
Kepore has a Master’s in accounting and vast professional experience as an accountant and academic.
He previously worked as a lecturer at the Pacific Adventist University and the University of PNG .
He also worked as the senior tax accountant with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, provincial VAT manager with Internal Revenue Commission and an accountant with RAM Business Consultants.
Prior to his appointment, he was the director academic for CPAPNG.
Chief Ombudsman Michael Dick and ombudsman Richard Pagen said Kepore’s wealth of professional experience would be of great benefit to the commission.
Dick said it was a requirement to have three members in the administration. He was thankful that they were able to appoint a third member after almost four years.
“The commission went through a long process to finally come up with the appointment,” Dick said.
