Operations in Tewai, Siassi to be transferred

ADMINISTRATIVE and treasury operations for Tewai-Siassi based in   Gagidu, Finschhafen, will be transferred back to a suitable location in the district, MP-elect Dr Kobby Bomario says.
Bomario said administration and treasury functions, and that included the district administrator, should be moved to enable the provision of a better service for the people.
Bomario  is the first Wasu candidate to unseat an incumbent MP, in this case the Minister for Fisheries and Marine Resources Mao Zeming. Political leadership in the district was largely in the hands of Sialum and Siassi Islanders.
“Wasu is the most advanced local level government (LLG) but at the moment I cannot guarantee the location,” Bomario said of the new administration site.
He said isolating the functions of the district administration and treasury from people and the three LLGs has resulted in various social issues and public servants being distanced from serving the people.
“Despite being a newcomer into the political arena under the Pangu Pati banner, I am confident and prepared to serve the people of Tewai-Siassi based on my service delivery mechanisms that are in place” Bomario said.
Bomario thanked voters from Umboi Islands (Siassi), Wasu and Sialum for their support and the 35 candidates who cooperated with each other to topple People’s National  Congress deputy  leader Mao Zeming.
He said he would continue from where Zeming left in terms of development.
“But foremost is to ensure the treasury books are audited to verify how much was spent and the balance for the people,” he said.
Bomario is a medical practitioner at Angau Memorial Hospital.
