Oro settlers celebrate with volleyball

THE ATS Oro settlers of Musa-Sauga volleyball tournament ends with the grand final on January 19.

Tournament patron Joseph Evari said the event is sponsored by International Training Institute with trophies worth K1,000.

Evari called on the Moresby North East MP and Vice Minister for Sports & Rugby League to donate cash prizes to go with the trophies. He said the tourney was officially launched by Gordon’s Police Station Commander John Zaruk and Senior Constable Barry Tarwin.

The policemen told the youths to keep away from illegal activities during Christmas and New Year.

Semi finals were played on Sunday in the men’s and women’s division with Off Cut, Back Street, Daimex, Mix Street, Brothers/ Sisters, Green/Gold, Dayastars and Drifters involved.

In the women’s major semi final Block Mates beat Upper Kumusi 3-0 to book the first grand final spot. The elimination final between Daimix and Tairex was not available while in the men’s Block Mates downed Bunei 3-0 and Saiwabera tamed Daimix 3-0.
