KOIARI Nagavas thrashed Eda Bulldogs 44-10 in the final round of the Southern Super League National Gaming Control Board Cup regular season at Moresby South Stadium yesterday.
Hooker Dickson Otis starred in the win as he scored a hat-trick, kicked three penalty goals and set up a couple of four-pointers in Nagavas’ nine-try haul.

Coach Norris Selu told The National after the game that his Nagavas’ dominant performance was due to the injection of a few talented Port Moresby Rugby Football League players in the side.
“We sort of struggled a bit at the start of the season, although we managed to get a few wins by close margins,” he said.

“But towards the end of the regular rounds, our Koiari players from Dobo Warriors plus a few Digicel Cup players joined us which provided a boost.
“As a result, we won our remaining games by good scorelines and the win against Eda Bulldogs reflects the support we get from those players.”

Selu said the board of league would confirm whether seventh-placed Nagavas would make the top-six finals.
He claimed that this was because of a technical error in the competition ladder.
Nagavas centre Josh Erico scored a double while Isaiah Wawo, Kosin Siga and Tape Nale scored a try each.
Bulldogs’ two tries were scored by Gideon Evi and Motatia Idau while five-eighth Emmanuel Laua converted only one of them.
