THREE players from outside Port Moresby have made it into the 20-member Pepes train-on squad.

This follows a high intensive training camp in Port Moresby last weekend.

Regular face and Lae’s midcourt specialist Nerrie Adula and defenders Central’s Tau Galewa and Alice Tai of Gulf are the three players who join the overseas-based players in a squad dominated by players from Port Moresby.

The players passed their first phase of the Papua New Guinea Netball training programme targeting an appearance at the regional world cup qualifier in Rarotonga, Cook Islands, in July.

Victoria-based Maleta Roberts and Queensland-based Tiata Baldwin, Cheryl Renagi and Courtney Abel have also made the team.

The train-on squad worked under the expertise eyes of high performance trainer and former Pepe Gimana Crowdy who described the two-day event as challenging especially with skills techniques a concern.

The trainon squad: Baldwin, Roberts, Rayleen Andrew, Japhet Tulapi, MaryPaul Buehler, Jacklyn Lahari (shooters), Winnie Mavara, Kimberly Alex, Marinama Maha, Adula, Renagi, Gase Moka, Shannah Dringo, Vili Nopiri (mid-court) Kilala Owen, Susan Wellington, Lua Mavara, Abel, Galewa and Tai (defenders).
