Parlt fellowship’s poor turnout angers MP

GOD must be shown the same respect as visiting dignatories, Kairuku-Hiri MP Paru Aihi said.
Mr Aihi said this after a poor turnout from Members of Parliament at the monthly combined fellowship held at Parliament’s state function room last week.
“Whenever we have an important visitor to Parliament, everyone (MPs) wants to be here.
“But when God (the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit) – the supreme authority–  is invited here
through such fellowships, nobody wants to be here,” he said.
Mr Aihi was asked to give a closing remark after the fellowship which was attended by more than 50 members from the National Capital District workplace ministry.
“I have a gut feeling that politicians have lost their way and need directions with a lot of
challenges the nation is going through at the moment,” he said.
Mr Aihi told members of the fellowship to help the Government find solutions to current problems.
“I believe the answer lies in God and in men and women like yourselves.
“For this nation to go forward, Christian believers must come out and help lead the way through prayer and by living the word of God,” he said.
