Participants undergo training on violence

MORE than 90 people have been trained to find solutions in their communities to prevent violence against women and related issues in Port Moresby.
The participants from Morata, Hanuabada, Kaugere and Sabama took part in aq four-day workshop.
Pastor Nickson Tawanda said he had learnty a lot.
“These trainings have helped me realise how I can influence positive change in my relationship at home, and create a ripple effect as I move outwards to encourage and change members of my community,” he said.
United Church official Hoge Rabura said a community-based approach was taken.
Rabura said dealing with violence against women and children was vital and the church was more than happy to be a partner in shifting norms and beliefs in the community.
