A PUBLIC-private partnership is important today with regards to the development of any province, district or city, according to Lae MP and Minister for Lands and Physical Planning John Rosso.
Rosso said this yesterday during the handing over of two new vehicles (Toyota Land Cruiser 10-seater) by Fisheries and Marine Resources Minister Dr Lino Tom and National Fisheries Authority (NFA) to the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary in Lae.
“The public-private partnership in Lae has contributed a lot to empowering police activities in terms of logistics and resources for policing communities,” he said.
“One good example was partnership between the International Container Terminal Service Incorporated where Malahang police station was given two police vehicles earlier this year. The other one is with Digicel who have provided a toll free police hotline for the community to report crimes and offences.”
Lae Metropolitan Superintendent Anthony Wagambie Jr said a good partnership had changed Lae between community, police and stakeholders had changed Lae.
