THE people of Hube local level government (LLG) in Finschhafen, Morobe had waited a long time for peace to prevail and it happened in the recent Good Friday Easter.
They gathered in Pindiu Station for the launch of K500,000 Hube peace restoration project funded by local MP and National Planning and Monitoring Minister Rainbo Paita to help peace committees in their awareness programmes.
“Thank you Paita for supporting the peace restoration for the people of Hube,” Willie Mayang, a representative of the peace negotiation in the LLG said.
“With the support, the impact projects have come this far as we launch it.
“I acknowledge all our peace committees who tirelessly committed their time and efforts to see this peace restoration awareness proceed smoothly.”
The National understands that the fighting in the hinterland of the district claimed a number of lives since 2015, disrupting basic Government services and facilities like schools, roads and aid posts that also saw public servants fleeing the district.
