COMMUNITIES from the three local government areas in Morobe’s Markham have been urged to strive to be clean, healthy, happy and safe.
Morobe community development officer Leron Wanti said the provincial administration had partnered with the district’s environmental health division to help inspire the people to ensure their villages were clean and healthy.
“Hygiene and sanitation is our main concern as these are the first steps to ensuring that our communities are safe and healthy,” he said.
“From the 21 village communities that we have been working with, only Insi village in the Umi-Atzera local level government has been declared a ‘healthy village’ in September.”
