NEW Guinea Islands (NGI) Assistant Commissioner of Police Perou N’dranou is appealing to people in the region to continue taking heed of the law.
N’dranou commended members of the security forces and the people for a “tremendous effort in delivering a good General Election 2022”.
“Having the safety and security of people placed on our shoulders was no easy job but I thank you all for treating that as paramount and created a safe space for people to exercise their democratic right to vote in their leaders,” he said in a statement.
N’dranou said NGI was the first region in the country to complete the election of their leaders because of the good behaviour the people had shown in respecting election processes that had resulted in the good flow of processes.
“Despite a few incidents that were reported, the security forces managed to have the situation under control and restored peace as soon as possible.”
