CENTRAL Governor Rufina Peter says the only way to bring the province forward will be to revisit and review all its structures and processes.
In her opening speech as the chair of the provincial assembly yesterday, she said her priority areas would be based on improving all key areas such as human resource, law and order, agriculture, education, strengthening local government, health and infrastructure.
She added that her administration would also look at maximising benefits from resource projects in the province.
“Human resource as our main resource and we should build this based on Christian principles,” she said.
She added that youth development would be an integral part of her plans for the province.
Peter said the only way to strengthen the LLGs and wards at the village level would be through capacity building, infrastructure and locating the needed funds for projects.
She acknowledged the province’s development partners for helping deliver rural services and projects.
“The province has been fortunate that the rural service delivery has been delivering projects and at the moment it is in its second phase,” she added.
She said supporting the police and helping build its logistical and manpower capacity would be key to improved policing in Central.
Peter said prioritising agriculture as the main source of revenue for the province would see more farmers produce commercial crops and boost development in the districts.
She said her focus in education would be to improve teacher quality to ensure better results from Central schools in the grade 10 and 12 national exams.
