Petrol and kerosene prices rise while diesel price dips

PRICES for petrol and kerosene in Port Moresby have increased while diesel has decreased by 1 toea.
The price of petrol went up by 1 toea to K3.72, compared to K3.71 last month.
The price of kerosene increased by 3 toea to K3.15 from K3.12 the previous month.
Diesel decreased by 1 toea to K3.40 from K3.41.
According to the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission (ICCC), the retail fuel price movements were the result of price movements in the Import Parity Price level this month.
Commissioner and chief executive Paulus Ain said that as part of the commission’s role on enforcement and compliance, officers would inspect all service stations to ensure that prices of petroleum products did
not exceed the maximum prices approved by the commission.
Consumers were advised to report any instances of overcharging by retailers.
