Plan to boycott classes winning union backing

Png Teachers’ Association says it will be backing East Sepik and Madang teachers to go on strike over leave-fare issues.
Teachers in East Sepik and Madang have warned they would boycott classes because their full leave-fare entitlements had not been paid.
“PNGTA supports teachers teaching in East Sepik and Madang to pursue the leave-fare issue,” general secretary Ugwailubu Mowana said.
He wants all provinces to report leave-fare to the PNGTA.
He said Momase PNGTA representative Michael Aimos was expected to be in Port Moresby to discuss issues of appointments and leave fares affecting teachers in East Sepik and Madang
“An assessment of the threats issued by the teachers in both provinces to boycott classes will be made,” he said
