Plans for Menyamya high schools

MENYAMYA education manager Ron Tanakae says three high schools are being planned to be set up in the district.
“This is in line with the provincial and national education policy to have a high school in every local level government (LLG),” he added.
“Apart from Menyamya Secondary School in Menyamya station, the district’s only high school is Aseki Lutheran High School, located in the Nanima Kariba LLG.”
Tanake said plans were to establish Kome High School for the Kome LLG, Wapi Junior High School for the Wapi LLG and Kapau Junior High School for Kapau LLG.
“Grades seven and eight from 34 primary schools in the district will be phased out under the 1:6:6 structure and parked under these high schools,” he said.
“We have set up working committees to find ideal locations and negotiations are currently underway.
“We are doing what we can but we only need funds from the national and provincial governments to start these schools.”
Tanakae said under the 1:6:6 structure, the 105 elementary schools in the district would be dissolved and parked under the primary schools.
