PLANS are underway to revive the Port Moresby School Soccer competition in the 2016 season.

Former POM School Soccer executive, John Mogi said he has received calls from parents and schools throughout NCD to start up the school soccer competition.

Mogi who was a brainchild of the elite programme, the School of Excellence (SOE), said he has put his hand up to take the lead.

He is appealing to all the schools in NCD to contact him to set a meeting any time before schools get into full swing this season.

Mogi said he planned to have the Schoolboys soccer competition played in three different conferences – North East, North West and Moresby South.

“It is basically to have all schools play in their respective electorates, and finals to be played in a home-and-away basis by three top schools,” he added.

It is something new, but Mogi is confident that it can be achieved if there is full cooperation from schools, parents and volunteers.

Mogi said the Port Moresby School Competition has provided pathways for current PNG elite players through the Sschol of Excellence programme for both boys and girls.
