Please reduce income tax threshold

IT is time the government conducts a review on the threshold of income tax.
We have being using the colonial system since independence and that is outdated.
Some of us are taxed 35% which is excessive when taking into account the daily 10% GST we have to pay on all goods and services rendered.
At the end of the day, I feel like I have been taxed some 80%.
The government is having a whale of a time collecting GST, taxes, royalties and others.
It will not do any harm if personal income tax is reduced as this will allow the people to have more cash in hand for other essentials.
Every week, workers from the public and private sector are taxed.
Just imagine how many millions of kina go to income tax alone.
Aren’t our labour unions fighting to reduce income tax?
Acting Prime Minister Sam Abal touched on reviewing threshold of personal income tax but since the strike by the doctors, there has been no mention about it.
