PM congratulates new chairman

PRIME Minister James Marape has congratulated Apeo Fuata Sione on his appointment as the chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Marape said Sione was appointed by the PSC appointment committee for five years from April 23.
“Sione comes with a wealth of experience in dealing with employee relations and welfare,” Marape said in a statement.
“He served in the public service for 23 three years in senior management role, one with the Department of Labour and Industrial Relations, two years with the Ombudsman Commission and 20 years with the Public Service Commission. In his time with the PSC, he served as the Commissioner of the PSC and also in various investigative, review and management capacities.”
Marape commended the PSC appointment committee for appointing Sione.
Sione comes from the Mortlock Atolls of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville and holds a masters of public policy degree with merit from the Australian National University.
