PM must stop making stupid comments

Letters, Normal

THE prime minister must refrain from making stupid statements in the public.
His comment about us becoming a donor country to neighbouring Pacific countries did not go down well with many people.
Is he living in another planet?
Does he know how ordinary Papua New Guineans are living in this country?
Eighty-five per cent of the people live in poverty in rural areas and cannot afford to pay their children’s school fees or medical treatments.
They do not have roads because the government has failed to provide them with this simple but necessary service.
The people who live in the urban areas are suffering from the high cost of education, rising inflation, poor road conditions, high unemployment, high rental rates, etc.
Rental takes out a big chunk of the people’s pay packets, making it hard for many to make ends meet.
How many Papua New Guineans can afford to own their houses?
The LNG project, while it may be good for the government, has made lives tougher for many of us.
It has caused a sudden sharp spike in real estate prices, forcing many people unable to own a house or rent even a room.
The people are fed up with the politicians who only live for themselves.
They want leaders who have common sense to lead them in a sensible way.
