PM’s comments raises concerns

Letters

PRIME Minister James Marape in The National on Feb 26 said Bougainville’s secession would affect the nation.
How would it affect the nation?
He made the comment in response to a question on the Bougainville Referendum during a press conference after returning from New Zealand.
His comment is a concern to Bougainvilleans.
He said when the matter is taken to Parliament, the 111 MPs would vote on their own conscience.
What will they vote for?
He said that the Bougainville Referendum has been concluded but the 2001 Bougainville Peace Agreement process has not been concluded.
What is not included?
He said part of the process was to bring the result of the vote to Parliament.
This is when and where the vote could be rejected or approved.
Why take the vote to Parliament?
Why should the parliament members decide on the political future of Bougainville when we, the people of Bougainville, have voted to move away?
We have already made our decision during the Referendum.
This is confusing and frustrating.
Let’s do something people of Bougainville!
