PORT Moresby Soccer Association (PMSA) president Joseph Ealedona has warned clubs to remain patient while awaiting approval from the National Pandemic Control Centre, through the Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation (PNGSF).
The PNG Football Association had submitted an application through PNGSF’s pandemic management committee to the Covid-19 Task Force, seeking permission for its member associations (MAs) to resume football competitions.
Ealedona said while awaiting the approval, he would advise the PMSA executives and club managements on the tentative dates for the season.
“The control centre has advised all sports via the PNG Olympic Committee and respective national federations that it is now looking at opening all sports,” he said.
“In our case, PNGFA is consulting closely with them to seek approval by submitting a request to start.”
