PUBLIC Motor Vehicle operators and the public in Port Moresby have been reminded that they will be fined for traffic rules breaches.

National Capital District PMV Association chairman Jack Waso says drivers, crews and passengers have rules to follow. Waso said bus drivers, crews and passengers must know that 90t was the fixed rate set by the price controller, Independent Consumer and Competition Commission (ICCC).

“Whether you get from Erima to Gordon or Gordon to Town, 90t is the bus fare you should pay, nothing more and nothing less,” Waso said.

“If passengers pay less than that, drivers and crews have the right to report to police so that those particular passengers pay a spot fine of K300 or serve three months in Bomana with hard labour.

“If crews and drivers charge more than 90t, passengers have the right to report to police so that the particular driver and crew pay K300 or go to Bomana and serve three months.”
