THE Papua New Guinea Cut Flower Association will host a flower show next month to showcase members’ flower arrangement skills.

It will be held from May 6 to 12 at the Moresby Arts Theatre.

A variety of flowers ranging from orchids to pot plants will be displayed by women from all over the country.

“The aim of the show is to display what they have learnt as well as create a good business exposure for them,” president of Papua New Guinea Cut Flower Association Mary Saun said.

“Most of these women grow flowers as a hobby while others have turned it into a business venture.

“But they have all gone through training so are now willing to put their skills to the test.

“A contingent will be coming in from Manus, Goroka, Maprik, Lae, East and West New Britain, Hagen and, of course, our women from Central too.

“They will be judged on stall setup, uniforms, pot plant presentation, fresh flower arrangement and dry flower arrangement.”

Saun said training would be held from May 13 to 17 and is open to everyone.
