PNG does not need a new govt

Letters, Normal

WITH the opposition is talking up a storm about changing the government, I would like to make some comments.
I am a supporter of stability and I want the current government to serve out its term.
Over the past eight years, PNG has made some progress and gained momentum in the economy as businesses boomed and our foreign reserves have increased.
I admit there some controversies, but looking at the bigger picture, PNG has done pretty well.
We have attracted some major foreign developers who are setting the pace for growth with the exception of the Ramu nickel project which I believe the government needs to revisit the agreement.
The opposition is talking about change but it has not offered anything concrete on what it would do.
I do not see any qualities in the opposition bench and even the government.
Corruption will still be the name of the game.
This country does not need a change of government but a change in the leadership.
Let the policies prevail and the country will enjoy economical boom but Sir Michael Somare must relinquish the top post.
As I see it, there are only two candidates who are capable of taking over – Deputy Prime Minister Sir Puka Temu and NCD Governor Powes Parkop.
