PNG-Indonesia relations strengthened, says ambassador

INDONESIAN ambassador to Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Island Andriana Supandy says bilateral relations with PNG has strengthened following Prime Minister James Marape’s visit to Indonesia on March 30 and 31.
“It is hopeful that at the end of next year, President Joko Widodo will be visit PNG to further strengthen relations and cooperation in terms of political, security, defence, economic and development cooperation,” he said.
“We will soon open the border between the two countries. Indonesian communities here are encouraged to help strengthen cooperation between government to government, people to people and business to business.” Andriana spoke at the independence celebration and flag-raising ceremony on Aug 17.
