THE Papua New Guinea Karate Do Federation has strongly refuted what it termed as misleading statements by its members to the media.
President Carl Mari is concerned that the statement released was misleading and not in the best interests of the sport in the country.
Mari was responding to a statements by Morobe Karate Association’s John Tarapia and Luke Goa.
“It is unfortunate that we have to continue responding to these types of allegations due to journalists’ lack of consultation to ascertain the accuracy of information to ensure a balanced report,” he said.
“The root of Tarapia’s statement about national selection was unfortunate, it’s a pity that he and his team failed to raise their grievances during the recently held annual general meeting in Kimbe to clarify the selection process.”
Mari said the PNGOC has a clear-cut and stringent selection policy which all its member national federations complied with in submitting selections for consideration for events.
