Garamuts complete Brisbane tour

The Hebou PNG Under-19 Garamuts finished their Brisbane tour on a high after defeating the Queensland U15 representative team by 56 runs at Ivor Marsden Oval.
Batting first, Garamuts scored their highest total of the tour ,posting 224-7 off their allotted 50 overs.
Heagi Toua continued his good form with the bat scoring 27 runs at the top of the order while William Aiga (26) and Ovia Sam (21) also made some valuable runs in the middle order, but the stand-out performances were Eisa Eka (51) and NouRarua (44) who posted an unbeaten 93 run partnership off just 60 balls to guide the Garamuts to 224.
In reply, the young Queensland U15 representative side was not able to handle the bowling attack of the Garamuts, eventually being bowled out for 168.
James Junior Tau (2/4a3) and Leke Morea (2/25) were the pick of the Garamuts bowlers taking two wickets apiece while Frank Ani, Ovia Sam, Eisa Eka and Jack Gardner all picked up a wicket each.
The Hebou PNG U19 Garamuts will fly back to Port Moresby this week after finishing the Brisbane tour with two wins and two losses.
These matches were all in preparation for the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand starting next month for which the Garamuts have qualified for the eighth time.
