PNG to copy KL SME scheme

 PNG is in the process of replicating the Malaysian model of its SME Corporation. 

This was disclosed by Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Richard Maru at a briefing with delegation of more than 40 small-and-medium enterprise owners who left for Malaysia last Saturday.

The group, which was led by Maru and Vice-Minister Ronney Knight, will attend an SME show in Kuala Lumpur starting tomorrow.

Maru said a number of reforms will be announced shortly, including a legislation that will cater for the proposed PNG SME Corporation.

The delegation was ex­pected to meet business operators in Malaysia and Maru has urged them to use this opportunity to make new business partners with them.
