PNG unlikely to meet MDG

Letters, Normal

IT is sad to note that PNG is far from achieving the millennium development goals (MDG).
What is the reason?
Why are we unable to achieve these global goals aimed at reducing poverty?
The answer to this question must be answered by our government and senior bureaucrats who are responsible for achieving these goals.
The majority of our people, either in rural areas or settlements in urban areas, are being deprived of basic services like decent housing, water and sanitation, public transport, telecommunication, etc.
Now, further pains are being inflicted upon the people with the rise in CPI.
This is causing many people to take only one meal a day as they struggle to make ends meet.
As such, it is unlikely for us to meet the MDG’s deadline come 2015.
