PNGFA acquires seven vehicles to help in work

THE Papua New Guinea Football Association has bought seven vehicles to help in the development of football across the country’s four regions, Southern, Northern, Highlands and the New Guinea Islands.
PNGFA president John Kapi Natto said the vehicles which cost K720,000 in total were purchased from PNG Motors and he was in Lae yesterday to handover a new Mazda BT-50 to the PNGFA member association manager Stanley Khanna.
He told The National that since getting into office in 2019 he had proceeded to strengthen PNGFA administration and its regional offices in order for it to be able to effectively develop soccer through their programmes.
“Transport makes our job easier visiting our member association here in Lae and also in Port Moresby and one of our vision that we have also is to build four education centres around the country,” he said.
“Transport is one of the very important area by moving assets, moving people to and from making our job easier.
“In the last two terms transport had been very biggest problem and when I got in officers were struggling because the vehicles were not maintained well,” he said.
He said with all the governance in place and under his leadership the organisation had been be able to convince Fifa putting in an application for new vehicles to boost work.
