PNGFA begins search for national men’s team coach

PAPUA New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) has begun searching for a new national men’s team head coach.
The positions that are vacant under coaching staff are head coach, assistant coach, goalkeeping coach and team trainer.
For the team management roles, the positions of team manager and assistant team manager have been advertised.
According to PNGFA, applicants for the role of head coach must have a minimum C licence senior coaching certificate from an affiliated organisation recognised by Fifa and a minimum of five years of active senior football coaching experience while the assistant only needs three years’ experience and a certificate as head coach.
For the role of goalkeeping coach, the requirement is a minimum goalkeeper coaching certificate from an Fifa-affiliated organisation and a minimum of three years of active senior football coaching experience.
In the management roles, both positions require a minimum tertiary education and management training certificate.
In terms of experience, the team manager must have a minimum of five years of work experience as a manager of a sporting or non-sporting organisation and must possess pro-active management and public relations skills while the assistant will only require three years of experience.
