PNGOC announces OSEP courses to be offered in 2022

THE Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee says the Oceania Sports Education Programme (Osep) courses and training will be offered in Port Moresby from this month.
Committee secretary-seneral Auvita Rapilla encouraged individuals, the Team PNG management, national federations and sporting associations to attend the courses and training. She said it would enhance their skills and knowledge, as such training was crucial for the development of sports in the country. A gender-equity workshop will kick off the series of Osep training, as gender sensitising is an integral part of raising awareness on cross-cutting socio-economic issues affecting communities across the country.
The workshop will be delivered from May 30-31.
The workshop is targeted at Team PNG management staff who are yet to attend the training.
It is also targeted at the federations that are not part of the Team PNG management such as athletes and volunteers. The national team manager training course is targeted at executives and volunteers who manage teams from any organised sporting tournament.
Those interested are encouraged to apply, and the course will be held from June 1-3.
The third course on offer is the development coach training course which will be delivered from June 1-3. It mainly targets Team PNG coaches and those who are Osep-certified in community coaching and official coaching, and in strength and conditioning.
July 6 sees the delivery of the Osep presenter and assessor training courses for those who want to be Osep trainers.
The fifth course, to be held from Aug 17-20, is the Osep sports in community administration training course which targets administrators and officiating volunteers at club, association and community levels. The final training is the Osep managing in sport organisation course which will be delivered from Sept 5-9.
All interested individuals are advised to fill out the mandatory Osep registration form which is available on the committee website (https://bit.lyact/3LFs).
All completed forms are to be received by May 18, and are to be emailed to Osep PNG coordinator Alurigo Ravusiro ([email protected].)
